At FBC we also want to instill gospel-centered community in the DNA of every church member. We are not called to live the Christian life alone. Loving one another is huge in our fellowship. All throughout scripture we see how people lived in close relationship with one another. For example, in the early church in Acts 2:46, we see how unity and closeness was a major part of the philosophy behind the church. Because of this closeness in their relationships, we also see how many people were saved. Their oneness led to those around them longing to be a part of something that was uplifting. Our desire is that when people join us for worship, outreach events, bible study, or any other activities that they will experience the friendly, family-like community of our church and see the love of Jesus in us and through us.
Jesus was often among the people out in the community. Thus, we desire to not only develop fellowship within our body of believers inside the church building, we also make an international effort to get out and meet specific needs in our city so that we can both demonstrate the love of Christ and spead the life-changing gospel. We know that in order to reach the lost of this world, we will need to "leave the building" and go out into the city.
